Men’s Tennis Falls to Yale In 2013 Opener, 7-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team opened competition in the New Year on Saturday afternoon, falling to Yale University, 7-0, at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn. With the loss, the Bobcats drop to 1-1 through two dual match-ups this season.

Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) and Alex Lazerowich (Stratham, N.H.) put up the best fight for the Bobcats in doubles action, falling 8-4, at No. 3 doubles to Daniel Faierman and Jason Brown. Fahoum Fahoum (Haifa, Israel) and Luke Roser (Bernardsville, N.J.) fell short to Marc Powers and Patrick Chase, 8-3, at No. 1, while Sebastian Barbero (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Garrett Lane (Reading, Mass.) suffered an 8-2 setback at No. 2.

In singles play, Barbero fell to Powers, 6-0, 6-0; Lane fell to Brown, 6-0, 6-1; Ambrosio fell to Krumholz, 6-1, 6-3; Fahoum fell to Faierman, 6-3, 7-5; Roser fell to Dean, 6-1, 6-4; and Corey Morgenstern (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) fell to Chase, 6-0, 6-0.

The Bobcats return to action next week with a pair of matches in Providence, R.I. Quinnipiac will take on Binghamton and Brown on the campus of Brown University.
