Men's Tennis Snaps Four-Game Winning Streak; Falls At Stony Brook, 7-0
STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team had its four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats dropped a non-conference match-up to Stony Brook University, 7-0, at the University Tennis Courts in Stony Brook, N.Y.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 7-9 overall on the season. The surging Seawolves, now winners in five straight matches, improve to 10-5 for the campaign.
The Seawolves came out with a strong showing in the doubles segment, taking all three matches. Alex Lazerowich (Stratham, N.H.) and Chris Nelson (Scituate, Mass.) put together the best performance, falling to Ryan Schmitz and Max Sztabholz, 8-5, in No. 3.
Stony Brook kept the pressure on in singles competition, completing the sweep with six individual triumphs. Lazerowich nearly collected a Bobcat point in No. 6, but fell short to Rob Forai, 7-6 (3), 6-4.
