PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team was defeated by Brown University, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon in Providence, R.I. Following a strong showing against the Bulldogs on Saturday night, the Bobcats couldn't overcome the quick start from the hosting Bears en route their fourth loss of the season. Brown remained perfect with the triumph, improving to 6-0 on the campaign.
The Bears, who knocked off Bryant earlier in the day, won all three of their matches on the weekend. Junior Andrew Weeden (Martinsville, N.J.) and John Petrini (Stamford, Conn.) gave their opponents all they could handle and nearly forced tie-breakers in the No. 1 and No. 6 heats. However, Soufiane Azargui and David Neff held on in the second sets to preserve the sweep.
The men's tennis team returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 26 with its Northeast Conference opener against Saint Francis (Pa.). All the action begins at 9 a.m. at the Quinnipiac University Tennis Courts.
