Villanova Defeats Men's Tennis, 6-1
HAMDEN, Conn. - Andrew Weeden (Martinsville, N.J.) won his No. 1 singles match, but the Quinnipiac University men's tennis team was defeated by Villanova, 6-1, Monday afternoon on the Quinnipiac Outdoor Tennis Courts. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-9 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 3-11.
Weeden defeated Thomas O'Brien, 6-4, 6-4, at top singles to account for the Bobcats' only point on the afternoon. Villanova won all three doubles flights to take the first point of the match, before winning the next five points at Nos. 2-6 singles. Weeden and O'Brien's match was the last to finish.
The Bobcats return to action Friday, when they play host to Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh Dickinson. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
