Andrew Weeden Falls In ITA Regional Round of 64
HAMDEN,
Conn. - Quinnipiac University men's tennis sophomore Andrew Weeden
(Martinsville, N.J.) was defeated by 14th-seeded Christo
Schultz of Harvard, 6-2, 6-1, in the ITA Northeast Regional Round
of 64 Saturday at Yale's Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. The loss
follows an unprecedented run by Weeden, as he became the first
player in Quinnipiac history to advance through qualifying to the
main draw. Weeden beat Stony Brook's Francesco Arciuli and Marist's
Joris Van Eck in qualifying before defeating Hofstra's Antonio Pena
in the main draw Round of 128.
The Bobcats
return to action Wednesday, when they travel to Storrs, Conn., to
face the University of Connecticut. Matches are scheduled to begin
at 2 p.m.
