Conn. - The top Quinnipiac men's tennis doubles tandem of Brian
Mikkelson (Mequon, Wis.) and James Kwei (Dedham, Mass.) won three
matches to advance to the Flight A Championship Match as the
Bobcats completed Day 1 at the UConn Invitational. Andrew Weeden
(Martinsville, N.J.) and Ben Shapiro (Katonah, N.Y.) also won
singles matches for the Bobcats.
Men's Tennis Completes Day 1 At UConn Invitational
Mikkelson and Kwei defeated duos from Hartford, Sacred Heart and UConn en route to the top flight championship match, in which they'll face another tandem from UConn tomorrow.
Weeden defeated Boston University's Jarred Pendleton, 6-4, 6-1, in B Flight singles action, while Shapiro defeated Hartford's Edgardo Ureta, 6-1, 6-1, in the D Flight.
The Bobcats continue action at the UConn Invitational tomorrow at 9 a.m.
