Men's Tennis Signs Corey Morgenstern To National Letter of Intent

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University Men's and Women's Tennis Head Coach Michael Quitko has announced the signing of Corey Morgenstern (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) to a National Letter of Intent. Rated a four-star talent by, Morgenstern has been ranked as highly as No. 149 nationally by the website.

"Corey comes to us out of a true tennis household with extensive knowledge of the game," said Quitko. "I expect Corey to be able to break the starting line-up as a freshman and improve our team so that we can do battle in the NEC."

Morgenstern has ranked as highly as No. 23 in the USTA Eastern Section Boys' 18's. He's also been rated as highly as No. 16 in New York by

Morgenstern has been an All-State and All-County doubles player in each of his three years at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy (POB JFK) High School. In 2007, he won the consolation draw in the state doubles tournament at Flushing Meadow. In 2009, he was the runner-up in the Nassau County doubles tournament.

Morgenstern is the son of Randi and Jeff Morgenstern. His older brother, Jason, is currently a senior competing on the tennis team at Wake Forest University.
