John Hughes Earns Comeback Victory At ITA Northeast Regional
NEW HAVEN, Conn. Quinnipiac University men's tennis player John Hughes won 12 of the last 17 games against Fairfield's Robert Ferrante to take a three-set victory in the opening round of the ITA Northeast Regional, Friday at Yale. After dropping the first eight games, Hughes utilized a more aggressive style of play to complete the come-from-behind victory.
"It was a great match in which John had to change his strategy to pull it out," said coach Mike Quitko. "He made the adjustment and earned a fantastic win."
Hughes now moves on to face Dartmouth's Daniel Freeman in tomorrow's second round.
