John Hughes Earns Comeback Victory At ITA Northeast Regional
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's tennis player John Hughes won 12 of the last 17 games against Fairfield's Robert Ferrante to take a three-set victory in the opening round of the ITA Northeast Regional, Friday at Yale. After dropping the first eight games, Hughes utilized a more aggressive style of play to complete the come-from-behind victory.
"It was a great match in which John had to change his strategy to pull it out," said coach Mike Quitko. "He made the adjustment and earned a fantastic win."
Hughes now moves on to face Dartmouth's Daniel Freeman in tomorrow's second round.
