Brian Mikkelson Splits Two Matches At ITA Northeast Regional
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's tennis sophomore Brian Mikkelson (Mequon, Wis.) split two matches at ITA Northeast Regional qualifying, Thursday at Yale. Mikkelson defeated Princeton's Ravi Yegya-Raman, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, in the first round before falling to third-seeded Nicolas Pisecky of Marist, 6-2, 6-4.
Mikkelson and junior John Hughes (Springfield, Mass.) continue play in the ITA Northeast Regional main draw tomorrow at 8 a.m. The duo will face Temple's Eduardo Saavedra and Ricardo Velazquez. Hughes is then scheduled to play Fairfield's Robert Ferrante in the main singles draw at 5 p.m.
