Men's Tennis Finds Success At UConn Invitational

STORRS, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's tennis team enjoyed a successful weekend at the UConn Invitational, Friday and Saturday. Freshman James Kwei (Dedham, Mass.) won five matches, while fellow freshman Garrett Lane (Reading, Mass.) won four. Senior Tom Curran (Fairfield, Conn.) and junior John Hughes (Springfield, Mass.) each won twice.

Five of the Bobcats' six singles competitors lost to the eventual champion, co-champion or runner up. Meanwhile, the doubles team of Kwei and Lane advanced to the Flight A Doubles championship match after three wins. The duo lost to Marist's Loic Sessagesimi and Matt Jimmelsbach, 8-4. Hughes and Brian Mikkelson (Mequon, Wis.) also fell to Sessagesimi and Jimmelsbach, 8-7, in the semifinals.

Junior Charlie Feldman (Easton, Conn.) and freshman Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J.) won twice in Flight B Doubles. The wins signified Tuckman's first collegiate victories.
