HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa is pleased to announce the addition of Shaquille Huggins (Trinidad and Tobago) to the team's roster for the upcoming 2014 campaign. Huggins comes to QU after strong prep careers at Queen's Royal College and St. Anthony's College.
Huggins, a skillful defensive midfielder from Trinidad and Tobago, joins Tanor Jobe, William Pustari, Maxamilian Rothenbuecher, John-John Diaz and James Greco who have also signed to play at Quinnipiac this year. The Bobcats go for a third straight regular-season title and look to return to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.

Position: Defensive Midfield
- Attended and played soccer at four schools: Bishops Anstey Junior School (age: 4 -11); Trinity College, Moka (High School) (age: 11 – 14; 16 - 18); Queen's Royal College (High School) (age: 14 – 16); St. Anthony's College (High School) (age: 18 – 19)
- Began his soccer career at the 'Harvard Football Clinic' and the 'Step By Step Football Academy' where he developed both technical and tactical skills for the game
- His 'Step By Step Football Academy' experience was highlighted by converting a penalty kick to help win the National North Zone – Under 16 Championship
- Huggins starred at both Trinity College and St. Anthony's College, providing leadership on and off the field of play, commanding the midfield with his sharp passing skills and decisive tackling, while also scoring goals when asked of him

"Shaquille is a strong and physical midfielder with good technical ability. He likes to play in a deep lying midfield role and adds stability to the defensive midfield position. Shaquille will give us a different option in the center of the park and his strengths will compliment other players in our squad.
