Philip Suprise Playing Professionally with MISL’s Milwaukee Wave

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Arguably the most dynamic forward in Quinnipiac men's soccer history, Philip Suprise, has recently signed to play professionally with the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Suprise graduated from Quinnipiac back in 2012 and has earned a spot on the roster under the direction of head coach Keith Tozer. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Milwaukee Wave is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Milwaukee, Wis. Founded in 1984; the franchise is the oldest professional soccer team in North America and a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). The team plays their games at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

"This is my home town; this is where I was born," said Suprise. "I grew up a Wave fan, it's kind of just a dream come true to start my professional career in Milwaukee. The goal for me is to just get on the field, get some points on the board, and help the team out to get to that ultimate goal of winning the championship."

Suprise wrapped up a stellar four-year career with the Bobcats in 2012, after leading the team to its first regular season championship in program history. Suprise finished with nine goals and two assists for a team-best 20 points on the season. He ranked amongst the conference leaders in several categories, including goals, goals per game, points, and points per game.

Suprise also earned his second consecutive trip to the Northeast Conference First-Team and fourth career conference accolade. His last collegiate goal against the SFU in NEC Tournament Semifinals served as his 26th career goal for the Bobcats. With the tally, he finished his career in eighth place all-time in goals (26), ninth place all-time in points (61), and was one assist shy of cracking top 15 all-time. Suprise's 26 goals were third most since Quinnipiac joined the NCAA's top division.

"I'm extremely excited about adding Philip to our roster," said Tozer, who is in his 22nd year at the helm of the program. "He is very dynamic on both sides of the ball, can shoot with either foot, has tremendous pace and defends very well."

Suprise returns home to Milwaukee where he attended Pius XI High School. Before attending Quinnipiac, Suprise was one of the nation's most highly touted recruits. He was the leading goal-scorer in Wisconsin history with 115 goals and 58 assists, while serving as a Midwest Region Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist at the end of his senior year. His 54 goals and 25 assists during his senior season at Pius XI High School were single-season state scoring records.
