Quinnipiac University head men's soccer coach Eric Da Costa announced today, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 that John-John Diaz (Miami, Fla.) and James Greco (Long Valley, N.J.) have signed to compete with the program beginning in the fall of 2014.

Former Quinnipiac men’s soccer star Freddy Hall has signed a contract with Burton Albion FC, the club announced on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Hall is signed for the remainder of the 2013-14 season with hopes of extending his stay on a long-term basis.

Former Quinnipiac soccer player Dominic Adams signed a professional contract with ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar on Sunday, a football club over in Iceland. Adams enjoyed a three-year stint with the Bobcats from 2008-10.

The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced its academic success by its student-athletes for the Fall 2013 semester. The Bobcats have once again excelled in the classroom with 428 student-athletes combining to post an all-time best cumulative grade-point average of 3.25.

Former Quinnipiac men's soccer standout Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) is off and running with his new professional franchise, and recently achieved an unforgettable milestone in his fourth game with the Milwaukee Wave. Suprise netted his first career goal on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 in the team's 21-9 win over St. Louis.

Borja Angoitia and Tobi Esche to Lead Men’s Soccer in 2014
Quinnipiac men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced his team captains for the 2014 season. 2013 All-MAAC First Team Goalkeeper Borja Angoitia (Bilbao, Spain) and All-MAAC First Team Defenseman Tobi Esche (Bremen, Germany) have been selected to lead the Bobcats in their upcoming campaign. Both served as integral components of the team’s defense a year ago.

Philip Suprise Playing Professionally with MISL’s Milwaukee Wave
Arguably the most dynamic forward in Quinnipiac men’s soccer history, Philip Suprise, has recently signed to play professionally with the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Suprise graduated from Quinnipiac back in 2012 and has earned a spot on the roster under the direction of head coach Keith Tozer. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Angoitia and the Bobcats advanced to the NCAA Division I Tournament for the first time in program history.

The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with No. 10 nationally-ranked University of Connecticut on Thursday night, but came up short in a 2-1 decision from Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 9-5-7 overall which serves as the final record of their 2013 campaign.

The Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team is set to open play in the 2013 NCAA Division I Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 21 right down the road in Storrs. The Bobcats drew nationally-ranked No. 10 UConn (11-2-6, 4-0-4 American Athletic Conference) in the first round, which will take place at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The winner of the game will take on American East Champion and nationally-ranked No. 6 UMBC on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team clinched its first-ever MAAC Championship on Sunday afternoon by defeating Monmouth in penalty kicks, 4-3, at Lessing Field in Fairfield. With the win, the Bobcats receive the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship. The selection show will be on Monday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. on NCAA.com with the opening round set for Thursday, Nov. 21. The Bobcats will host a viewing party in Quinnipiac’s University Club at the TD Bank Sports Center, which will be open to the public to attend beginning at 11:30 a.m.

In thrilling fashion, the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team (9-4-6, 7-1-2 MAAC) has fulfilled its goal of making the MAAC Championship game, and will look for a berth in the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. Joining the Bobcats in the final match is top-seeded Monmouth University (8-6-5, 7-1-2 MAAC) who also advanced by way of penalty kicks in the semifinals. The Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team (9-4-5, 7-1-2 MAAC) won eight of its final 11 games to close out the regular season, and claimed a share of the MAAC Regular Season title. Up next for the Bobcats is the 2013 MAAC Championship, where they enter as the second seed and take on third-seeded Iona College (10-6-2, 7-2-1 MAAC) in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. The first semifinal features top-seeded Monmouth against fourth seeded Manhattan at 4 p.m. All the action takes place at Lessing Field on the campus of Fairfield University.

Borja Angoitia (Bilbao, Spain) showed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Bobcat nation why he was selected as the league’s top goalkeeper on Friday night. The Spanish native scored on the first penalty kick and made the decisive save on the final one to propel the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team to a 7-6 victory over Iona College in a pivotal shootout in the MAAC Semifinals from Lessing Field. With the win, Quinnipiac advances to the MAAC Championship to face Monmouth on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.

Highlighted by junior goalkeeper Borja Angoitia (Bilbao, Spain), the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team received high praise for another successful season with several individual accolades at the annual MAAC Championship banquet on Thursday night. Angoitia, who was named the 2013 MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, was one of six Bobcats to be honored by the MAAC by night’s end.

College Sports Madness recently announced that Da Costa was selected as the MAAC Coach of the Year in an article that was released on Friday, November 15, 2013. For the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team that good fortune came in the very last game of the regular season, as the Bobcats claimed a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship with a 1-0 win in overtime at Rider on Saturday night.

Angoitia was instrumental in net for the Bobcats, which included their first win of the 2013 season.

Former Quinnipiac men’s soccer midfielder Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) recently signed to play professionally with Waterford United F.C. in the First Division of the League of Ireland. McLarney made his debut this past weekend playing 70 minutes against English Premier League Side Crystal Palace F.C. The Blues are currently in third place in their division, five points behind the league-leader, Athlone Town.

Quinnipiac men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has added another name to the Bobcats’ 2013 roster, as James Doig (Liverpool, England) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend QU this fall. Doig has international experience with several clubs and will make an immediate impact for the Bobcats in their inaugural season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
