Men's Soccer Climbs To Sixth In NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Regional Poll
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fresh off its four-game winning streak, the Quinnipiac University men's soccer team has climbed higher in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's Soccer North Atlantic Regional Poll, announced by the association on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. The Bobcats were picked sixth in this week's edition, a two-spot jump from last week's census.
Quinnipiac (8-5-2) joins a list of successful programs, a group that includes the likes of MAAC powerhouse Niagara (11-1-4) at #1 in the census. The Purple Eagles are followed by Loyola (Md.) (10-5-1), NEC foes Monmouth (9-3-3) and Fairleigh Dickinson (8-4-3) with Siena (10-6) rounding out the top five. Quinnipiac leads off the bottom half and are chased by Central Connecticut State (8-6-2), Sacred Heart (8-7), NJIT (8-8) and Canisius (8-7-2).
|7.||Central Connecticut State||8-6-2|
|9.||New Jersey Institute of Technology||8-8-0|
In prime position to potentially host the NEC Tournament, Quinnipiac will need two strong results in the final weekend of competition. The Bobcats welcome CCSU, who is ineligible for the NEC Tournament due academic ineligibility, on Friday and FDU on Sunday.
