Quinnipiac Athletics Announces All-Time Best Department GPA For Fall 2013 Semester
The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced its academic success by its student-athletes for the Fall 2013 semester. The Bobcats have once again excelled in the classroom with 428 student-athletes combining to post an all-time best cumulative grade-point average of 3.25.

Three More to Join Men’s Soccer Roster this Fall
Quinnipiac University men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced that Liam O’Sullivan (Trumbull, Conn.), Ryan Scheiderman (Brick, N.J.) and Brian Westerman (Long Island, N.Y.) will join the Bobcats’ roster for the upcoming season. Quinnipiac will embark on a challenging MAAC schedule for the first time this fall.

Robbie McLarney Named Men's Soccer Player of the Year at Annual Banquet
The Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team held its annual banquet on Saturday, April 20, 2013 where the team announced its individual award winners for the 2012 season. Held at Laurel View Country Club in Hamden, Conn, Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) was the man of the evening as the senior midfielder took home men’s soccer Player and Newcomer of the Year honors. Along with McLarney, William Cavallo (Londonderry, N.H.) was named the team’s Players’ Player of the Year, while Zach Friedenreich (Edison, N.J.) earned his second straight Academic Player of the Year accolade.

Quinnipiac Soccer's #26 Uniforms Auction a Huge Success; Bobcats Raise Over $30,000 for Scholarship Fund
The Quinnipiac University soccer programs' world-wide fundraiser for the town of Newtown enjoyed remarkable success as the Bobcats surpassed the $30,000 mark when the auction closed on Sunday, April 14 at 10 p.m. The Bobcats began their auction for #26 jerseys on March 14, 2013, which saw jerseys donated by soccer teams from around the world, to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of Rachel Marie D'Avino - the cousin of former Quinnipiac captain, Lauren Carmody-Grenier '02.

Carvalho and Pett both have collegiate playing experience and will provide an immediate impact in Quinnipiac’s quest for a second consecutive regular season title.

Quinnipiac University men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced that sophomore Tobias Esche (Bremen, Germany) will join the Bobcats this spring in preparation for the 2014 campaign. Esche joins the Bobcats after a brief stint with the University of North Carolina men’s soccer program in 2012.

Quinnipiac University men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced that seniors Simon Hinde (Canberra, Australia) and Brandon Strain-Goode (Toronto, Ontario) will serve as the team captains for the 2013 season. Hinde and Strain-Goode were instrumental in Quinnipiac’s Northeast Conference Regular-season title last year and look forward to leading the Bobcats in the MAAC.

Soccer Night In Newtown A Great Success; Quinnipiac and MLS Host Clinic For Children
Quinnipiac University soccer partnered with Major League Soccer (MLS) and CFC Azul to host a special “Soccer Night in Newtown” on Monday, January 7, 2013. The event was held from 4-8 p.m. at the Newtown Youth Academy Sports & Fitness Center in Newtown. More than 30 members of the men’s and women’s soccer programs participated in the event that attracted nearly 1,500 people.

Quinnipiac University men’s soccer seniors Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) were recently tabbed to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-North Atlantic Region Team, announced Monday, December 10, 2012 by coaches around the area. Suprise and McLarney were two crucial components of the Bobcats team this past season and largely responsible for the program’s first Northeast Conference Regular-Season title.

Quinnipiac men’s soccer seniors Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Marijan Jurac (Greenwich, Conn.) have been accepted to participate in the InfoSport: Pro Soccer Combine, being held in Lakewood Ranch, FL (Bradenton/Sarasota area). The three-day event, which will run from January 8-10, 2013, brings in approximately 250 aspiring professional soccer players from around the world.

Three seniors of the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team – Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.), Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) and William Cavallo (Londonderry, N.H.) were recently selected to play in the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) All-Star game announced by coaches all around the region. The game will take place on Sunday, November 25 at Harvard University (1 p.m.).

College Sports Madness announced the 2012 Madness NEC Men’s Soccer All-Conference Teams which included four members from Quinnipiac University. Head Coach Eric Da Costa was tabbed the Coach of the Year, while seniors Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.) were named to the First Team and fellow classmate William Daniels (Clackamas, Ore.) was named to the Second Team. The staff at College Sports Madness picked the nation’s top college soccer players that have made significant contributions to their teams this season.

Men's Soccer Falls In NEC Semifinals; Defeated By Saint Francis (Pa.) In Penalty Kicks, 4-3
The historic season of the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team came to an unfortunate close on Friday afternoon, as the Bobcats suffered an unsettling loss in penalty kicks to Saint Francis (Pa.) in the NEC Semifinals at Ken Strong Stadium in West Haven, Conn. Senior Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) kept the Bobcats’ hopes alive with an equalizing goal in the second half, but after a 1-1 draw through double overtime, penalty kicks were needed to determine a winner. The Red Flash outlasted the Bobcats, 4-3, in the shootout to earn the right to play on Sunday afternoon for the championship.

Tournament Central - Quinnipiac Hosts NEC Men's Soccer Championship At West Haven High School
Quinnipiac scored two first half goals and never looked back, defeating Fairleigh Dickinson by a final score of 3-0 on Sunday afternoon to claim the Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Regular-Season trophy and the right to host 2012 NEC Men's Soccer Tournament. Due to inclement weather, the games will be played at the Fitzgerald Sports Complex in West Haven, Conn. Senior William Cavallo (Londonderry, N.H.) scored a goal in each half on Sunday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team clinched its first-ever Northeast Conference Regular-Season Title with a 3-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson at the QU Soccer Field on Mount Carmel Campus. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 10-5-2 overall, 8-1-1 in league play, and will host the NEC Tournament next weekend.

Freshman Stevenson Hawkey's (Pennington, N.J.) first career goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation sent the game into overtime and helped the Bobcats stay unbeaten in Northeast Conference competition.

With the win, the Bobcats climb back to the .500 mark at 4-4-1, but more importantly improve to 2-0 in the Northeast Conference. McLarney's penalty kick late in the contest proved to be the difference, granting the Bobcats their first Northeast Conference win of the season.

Seniors William Daniels (Clackamas, Ore.) and Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.) each scored a goal on Saturday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team battled America East foe Vermont to a 2-2 draw through double overtime at the QU Soccer Field on Mount Carmel Campus. Trailing 2-1 late in the second half, Daniels’ provided the game-tying goal with a free-kick outside of the penalty box. With the result, the Bobcats improved to 2-4-1 on the season, while the visiting Catamounts moved to 3-3-3.

On Saturday, September 22, the Quinnipiac University men’s soccer team (2-4) welcomes Vermont to Mount Carmel Campus for Alumni Day at the QU Soccer Field. With the win, the Bobcats claimed bragging rights in the first ever meeting between the two squads. More importantly, QU improved to 2-1 on the season, while the visiting Leopards fell to 1-2 in non-conference action.
