Former Quinnipiac Men's Soccer Standout Shane Recklet Joins VFC Plauen
Former Quinnipiac University men's soccer standout Shane Recklet (Shelton, Conn.) has extended his stay over in Germany, as the 24-yearold has signed a new contract with VFC Plauen. Recklet enjoyed a season with SV Germania Schöneiche, but announced on Friday, July 6, 2012 that he will represent a new club for the next season.

Philip Suprise Named Men's Soccer Player Of The Year At Annual Banquet
Junior Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wisc.) was named men’s soccer Player of the Year at the Quinnipiac men’s and women’s annual banquet on Friday, April 27. Sophomore Brandon Strain-Goode (Toronto, Ontario) earned Player’s Player of the Year accolades, while Borja Angoitia (Bilbao, Spain) was named Newcomer of the Year and Zachary Friedenreich (Edison, N.J.) earned Academic Player of the Year honors.

Men's Soccer Welcomes Three Transfers For 2012 Fall Season
Quinnipiac men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced the signing of three transfer players, set to join the team for the 2012 season. Midfielders Robbie McLarney (Londonderry, N.H.), Sam Nicol (Midlothian, Scotland), and Simon Hinde (Canebrra, Australia) will each step in to provide important roles in the middle of the pitch for the Bobcats.

Men's Soccer Announces Class Of 2016
Quinnipiac men’s soccer head coach Eric Da Costa has announced the five members of the Class of 2016 that will join the Bobcats for the 2012 campaign. Defenders Stevenson Hawkey (Pennington, N.J.), Nick Lasweicz (Southbury, Conn.), Justin Kody (Northborough, Mass.) and Erik Panzer (Nelson, New Zealand), as well as goalkeeper Marc Meny (Philipsburg, N.J.) will be set to compete next year for the Quinnipiac squad.

Graciano Brito '09 Signs With Rochester Rhinos For 2012 Season
Former Quinnipiac men’s soccer standout Graciano Brito ’09 has signed with the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) for the upcoming 2012 season, as announced by the team on Thursday, Feb. 2. Brito moves from rival USL PRO team FC New York, where he experienced a solid season for the club, tallying four goals in just 12 games.

Former Quinnipiac Goalkeeper Freddy Hall '10 Gets Starting Nod For Northampton Town F.C.
Former Quinnipiac men’s soccer star Freddy Hall ’10 earned his first start for the Northampton Town F.C. Cobblers this past Saturday, Jan. 7, leading the team to its first victory in more than three months with a 2-1 win over Morecambe. Hall stepped in to replace injured goalkeeper Shane Higgs and has now situated himself as the Cobbler’s first-team goalie for the immediate future.

Quinnipiac Men's And Women's Soccer Help Peace Corps
On Sunday, the men’s and women’s soccer programs are supporting the efforts of Truong Nguyen ‘08, a former men’s soccer player now serving in the Peace Corps in Indonesia. Volunteers will be handing out information and accepting donations to help Truong as he works with his village in East Java, Indonesia to build a multipurpose (soccer and basketball) athletic court. The purpose of an athletic court is to give students a safe place to participate in sports and build confidence and pride within the community.

The Quinnipiac men’s soccer team was selected to finish seventh in the 2011 Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The Bobcats, who finished the 2010 season 4-11-2 overall (3-6-1 NEC), return 12 players from last season. Top-scorer and assistant captain, junior Philip Suprise (Milwaukee, Wis.), who finished the 2010 campaign with five goals and one assist, has led the Bobcats in goals scored and overall points in each of the last two seasons.
