Soubrier And Staffanson Selected To Play In NEISL All-Star Game

HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac men's soccer senior defender Pierre Soubrier (Aurignac, France) and senior defensive midfielder Tolle Staffanson (Goteborg, Sweden) have been selected to participate in the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Soccer League's All-Star Game, which is to be held at Harvard University on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 3 p.m.

This is the second time both Soubrier and Staffanson have received post-season recognition this year, as the two senior captains were previously honored at season's end by being named to the 2010 Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Second Team All-Conference.

Soubrier finished his Quinnipiac career with 69 starts and registered six goals and eight assists. He capped off 2010 season tied for second on the team with nine points (two goals, five assists).

In his career, Staffanson started in 75 games for the Bobcats, the most among all players on the 2010 team. During the 2010 season, he started all 16 games he played in and logged 1449 minutes of action during the season, third most on the team.

On the Division I All-Star Team, the two Quinnipiac defenders will be joined by Josh Ford (UConn), Chris Piekos (UMass), Brian Minogue (Providence College), Robert Brickley (UConn), Greg King (UConn), Robert Millock (Harvard), Jaren LaGreca (Harvard), Lusiano Dadario (Sacred Heart), Matthew Uy (Fairfield), Matt Marcin (Providence), Sam Groves (Hartford), Robert Cavenar (CCSU), Ben Arikian (UMass), Sergio Freitas (Sacred Heart), Nick Lueders (Northeastern), Jonathan Werth (Holy Cross), Norbert Guery (Bryant) and Kyle Miller (Holy Cross).
