TAMPA, Fla. - Former Quinnipiac men's soccer star Graciano Brito (Sau Nicolau, Cape Verde) has been named to the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Pro Team of the Week, as announced on Tuesday, May 17. Brito, who plays for F.C. New York, netted his first two goals of the season during the week, including the game-winner on May 13 in a 1-0 win over Charleston. He added his second goal of the season the following game against Wilmington on May 14.

Tolle Staffanson Named Men's Soccer 2010 Player of the Year
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's soccer team held its annual banquet recently and announced its individual awards for the 2010 season. Senior Tolle Staffanson (Goteborg, Sweden) was named the team's Player of the Year, while senior Rodrigo Uchoa (Brasilia, Brazil) was named Academic Player of the Year, senior Pierre Soubrier (Aurignac, France) was named Player's Player of the Year, and freshman Brandon Strain-Goode (Toronto, Ontario) was honored with the Young Player of the Year award.

Quinnipiac men's soccer head coach Eric Da Costa recently caught up with former men's soccer star Shane Recklet. The two spoke of Recklet's tough, yet amazing journey from an unsigned player to an everyday starter for the German Pro club SV Germania 90 Schoneiche. Recklet, who just last week notched his first professional goal, provides insight into how coach Da Costa, fellow teammates and his own determination helped him accomplish his dream of becoming a professional soccer player.

New York of the United Soccer Leagues, announced the club on Monday, Feb. 21. F.C. New York will begin its season this coming spring on Saturday, Apr. 9 when it faces Orlando City.

Former Quinnipiac men's soccer standout Shane Recklet (Shelton, Conn.) has signed with the German Pro club SV Germania 90 Schoneiche. SV Germania 90 Schoneiche, based in the German state of Brandenburg, plays in NOFV-Oberliga in the Nord division. NOFV-Oberliga is in the fifth tier of the German Football League System.

Former Quinnipiac Goalkeeper Freddy Hall Ends Trial With Plymouth Argyle F.C., Returns To Bermuda
Former Quinnipiac goalkeeper Freddy Hall was recently featured in Bermuda's The Royal Gazette and England's Plymouth Herald as a possible addition to the Plymouth Argyle of England's Football League One. The Argyle, also known as the Pilgrims, recently completed a preseason tour of the Netherlands, with Hall appearing in one game. While Argyle general manager Peter Reid was pleased with Hall's play, his professional trial ended and Hall returned to Bermuda with the possibility of a future signing with the Pilgrims.
