HARTFORD, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team continued its 2010 spring season this weekend with games against the University of Hartford and Holy Cross on Saturday. The Bobcats defeated Hartford, 1-0, on a goal from Pierre Soubrier (Aurignac, France). The junior defender beat the Hawks goalkeeper with a shot off a Durval Pereira (Cheshire, Conn.) corner kick for the game's lone goal. Quinnipiac was then defeated by Holy Cross, 1-0, in the second game of the day.
Freshman goalkeeper George Ellis (Greatham, England) was denied his fourth shutout of the spring with the loss at Holy Cross, but only allowed one goal in all four games, while posting a scoreless streak of more than 270 minutes of play.
The Bobcats began the spring with wins over Post and American International, 3-0 and 6-0, last weekend. Through four games, Quinnipiac has outscored its opponents by a 10-1 margin.
The team returns to action on Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m., against Manhattan in their final game of the spring. Prior to the start of the game of with the Jaspers, Quinnipiac will be hosting an Alumni Game at noon.
