HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's soccer team earned
a spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America/adidas Regional Rankings this week for the second
time this season. The Bobcats moved up two spots to fifth place in
the North Atlantic Region after a 1-0 win at Army and a 2-2 tie
against Iona. Quinnipiac is one of just two undefeated teams
earning a spot in the poll, posting a 2-0-3 record.
The Bobcats have tied two teams ranked ahead in the poll. Quinnipiac played to a scoreless draw against No. 4 Loyola (Md.), 0-0, and No. 2 Iona, 2-2, in its most recent game. The top team in this week's rankings is Northeast Conference opponent Monmouth with a 7-0-0 record. The Bobcats will travel to West Long Branch, N.J., to take on the Hawks on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
Central Connecticut State and Sacred Heart are the two other NEC teams in this week's rankings. The Blue Devils sit one spot behind the Bobcats in sixth after losing two games last week. The Pioneers are ninth in the most recent poll with a 2-1 record and a 1-0 victory at Holy Cross in their most recent game.
Quinnipiac plays Stony Brook on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field at 4 p.m.
