Conners and Corcoran Selected to the NEILA Second Team

HAMDEN, Conn. – Two members of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team earned All-New England honors for the second straight year, as senior Gill Conners (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and junior Pat Corcoran (Stratford, Conn.) were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Second Team, which was voted upon by coaches around the region.

Gill Conners wrapped up a tremendous two-year stint with the men's lacrosse team, earning his second consecutive NEILA accolade. Conners finished up his career with 366 saves, standing just behind fourth place for the most saves at Quinnipiac. In 2014, Conners posted 13.2 saves per game, a .576 save percentage, and a 10.20 goals against average. He ranked fourth in the nation in saves per game, sixth in save percentage and 35th in goals against average. Last year, Conners took home Northeast Conference and NEILA Goalie of the Year honors.

Pat Corcoran was recognized by the NEILA for the second straight season as well, posting solid numbers throughout the 2014 campaign. Corcoran finished with 11 goals and nine assists for his second consecutive 20-point season and third straight 15-point season. Despite missing some time with an injury, Corcoran appeared in 12 of the 14 games which included 11 in a starting role. Highlighted by two goals and three assists in the win at Monmouth, Corcoran tallied three four-point games this year. He had a hat trick in the win against Manhattan and dished out a season-high three assists in the win at Detroit. He also finished second on the team with 10 caused turnovers.

Bryant's Kevin Massa snatched NEILA Player of the Year honors, leading the Bulldogs to the Northeast Conference Title. Harvard's Chris Wojcik was tabbed Coach of the Year and UMass' Nick Mariano was named Rookie of the Year.
