Men’s Lacrosse Lands Spot on NEILA Weekly Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team has returned to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (NEILA) Weekly Poll as the Bobcats were ranked eighth in this week's edition, announced on Monday, March 31, 2014.

Quinnipiac (3-4, 2-1 MAAC) jumped back over the .500 mark in conference play with its thrilling, overtime win at Detroit Mercy on Saturday. Junior Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) put home the game-winner with 3:08 remaining in the first overtime, moving the Bobcats into sole possession of second place in the league standings. Sagl had a goal and three assists in the game, extending his point streak to 26 straight dating back to the 2012 season.

Pat Corcoran (Stratford, Conn.) also had four points in the game, finishing with a goal and three assists. Dylan Webster (Brampton, Ontario) recorded his seventh career hat trick, which included the game-tying tally with 1:08 left in regulation that sent the game into overtime. On the other side of the ball, Gill Conners (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was sensational in goal, stopping 13 shots on the afternoon. Conners leads the nation in save percentage (.632) and ranks second in saves per game (13.7).
