HAMDEN, Conn. – Fresh off an impressive 16-9 win at Providence College, the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team found its name on the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (NEILA) Weekly Poll, which was released on March 3, 2014.
Quinnipiac, who was ranked sixth in this week's census, scored 16 goals for the first time since 2011 in Saturday's win. Nine different Bobcats scored in the victory, led by six goals and two assists from Dylan Webster (Brampton, Ontario). Gill Conners (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was solid in goal, making 19 saves in his seventh career win.
UMass topped this week's poll as the nationally-ranked Minutemen continue to shine early on. Yale was ranked second, while Fairfield, Bryant and Harvard round out the top five. Brown and Hartford trail Quinnipiac in the final two spots.
Quinnipiac is back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Harvard University. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at Soldiers Field in Cambridge, Mass.
