HAMDEN, Conn. – The Program was founded in 2008 with the mission of providing high schools, professional and collegiate teams, and corporate organizations, with the best leadership and team building development in the country. In search of its first Northeast Conference Championship this coming season, the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team took part in various exercises in preparation for the 2013 campaign.
Under the leadership of CEO and Founder Eric Kapitulik, The Program creates personalized leadership development training that challenges every member of the team to get better. On Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10, Quinnipiac embarked on the challenge and completed the mission.
With notebooks and pens in hand, the team began its mission in the Meeting Room at 4 p.m. One of the rules of Rules of The Program is that everyone must have the same attire and equipment – so all Bobcats showed up in Quinnipiac sweat suits. The team met from 4-5 p.m. and then moved outside from 5-9 p.m. A fierce training session took place outside, where sprints, push-ups, flutter kicks, bridges, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, fireman carries, log lifts, sandbag carries and other exercises occurred.
Early the next morning, the Bobcats met at Cheshire Academy for a pool session at 5 a.m. The pool session included crawl strokes, push-ups, flutter kicks, mountain climbers, bridges, jumping jacks, treading water with sweat shirts, treading water and removing sweatshirts, treading water and holding the sweatshirts above our heads, treading water and exchanging our sweatshirts with a teammate and treading water and putting the sweatshirts back on.
After a brief meeting, a T-Shirt was given out to the teammate who showed the tools and skills in which The Program embodies. Chris Messina (West Islip, N.Y.) received the T-Shirt for his hard work and leadership throughout The Program.
