Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2014 Team Captains
Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse head coach Eric Fekete has announced that four returning upperclassmen - Gill Conners (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Brandon Kuring (New Milford, Conn.), Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) and Greg Pendergast (South Windsor, Conn.) - will serve as team captains for the 2014 season.

Men’s Lacrosse Earns NEC Spring Team Sportsmanship Award
The Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team was honored with the Northeast Conference Spring Team Sportsmanship Award as announced on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. The award program, conceived by league Presidents, is designed to acknowledge the team in each conference sport that, in the opinion of its peers, most closely demonstrates good sportsmanship based on the NEC Principles of Sportsmanship and Standards of Conduct.

Four members of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team – Jay Binkowski (Bethany, Conn.), Chris Messina (West Islip, N.Y.), Basil Kostaras (Southlake, Texas) and Brendan Wilbur (Hingham, Mass.) – have been selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East/West All-Star Game as announced on Thursday, May 23, 2013. The game will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at Merrimack College.

Chris Messina (West Islip, N.Y.), Basil Kostaras (Southlake, Texas) and Jay Binkowski (Bethany, Conn.), three team captains of the Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team, have been selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Senior Scholar-Athlete Team, announced on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 by members of the committee.

Conners, Corcoran Earn NEILA Honors; Conners Named New England’s Top Goalie
Two members of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team that made a fifth straight postseason appearance have been named to the Division I all-region team selected by the 48 schools that belong to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA). Junior Gill Conners (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) was named the top goalie in New England while Pat Corcoran (Stratford, Conn.) garnered second team honors.

Senior Brendan Wilbur (Hingham, Mass.) and sophomore Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team were named to the 2013 Northeast Conference Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team, announced on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Wilbur and Sagl paced the Bobcats attack in the semifinals against Robert Morris this past weekend.

Men's Lacrosse takes on Robert Morris in NEC Semifinals on Thursday at 4 PM
In search of its second NEC Championship appearance, the Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team’s (6-7, 3-2 NEC) quest for a bid to the NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Smithfield, R.I. The No. 3 seeded Bobcats will take No. 2 seed Robert Morris University (7-6, 3-2 NEC) at Bulldog Stadium in the NEC Semifinals. The No. 1 seeded Bryant Bulldogs (6-10, 4-1 NEC) and No. 4 seeded Sacred Heart Pioneers (3-10, 3-2 NEC) open the single-elimination playoff at 1 p.m., followed by the Bobcats and Colonials at 4 p.m.

Men's Lacrosse Suffers Tough Loss in NEC Semifinals; Bobcats Edged by Robert Morris, 15-14
The Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team’s season came to a close on Thursday afternoon, as the Bobcats were narrowly defeated by Robert Morris University, 15-14, in the Northeast Conference Tournament Semifinals at Bulldog Stadium in Smithfield, R.I. With the win, the Colonials advance to the NEC Championship to face top-seeded Bryant on Saturday.

Six Bobcats Named All-Conference; Gill Conners Selected to NEC First Team
Five members of the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team were presented with All-Northeast Conference honors on Thursday night, as Bryant University and league officials hosted its third annual NEC Pre-Tournament Banquet in Smithfield, R.I. Junior goalie Gill Conners (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) earned a selection to the NEC’s First Team, while Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.), Brendan Wilbur (Hingham, Mass.) and Matt Diehl (Towson, Md.) were all tabbed to the NEC’s Second Team. Also honored by the league were freshmen Dylan Baumgardner (Cheshire, Conn.) and Billy Oppenheimer (Conshohocken, Pa.) who each earned a trip to the NEC All-Rookie Team.

The Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team was defeated at Robert Morris by a final score of 9-7 on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats wrapped up their 2013 regular season already having their ticket punched to the 2013 NEC Tournament. Quinnipiac, who will serve as the No. 3 seed, begins its quest for an NCAA Tournament bid on Thursday, May 2 against No. 3 Robert Morris at Bryant University – who clinched the regular season title and the top seed with a win over Sacred Heart.

The Bobcats head to Robert Morris (6-6, 2-2 NEC) on Saturday, April 27 and with a win could potentially host the 2013 NEC Tournament. Dylan Webster (Brampton, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal with 1.8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team over Wagner, 11-10, on Senior Day at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field Saturday afternoon. The win clinches a playoff spot for the Bobcats as they head into the final weekend with a 3-1 mark in Northeast Conference play.

Sophomore Michael Sagl (West Islip, N.Y.) netted the game-winner in triple overtime to lift the Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team to a crucial NEC win over Sacred Heart, 13-12, at Campus Field Saturday night. With the result, both teams move to 2-1 in league play and into a tie for second place in the standings.

Matt Diehl (Towson, Md.) finished with two goals and two assists and Billy Oppenheimer (Conshohocken, Pa.) handed out a career high three assists on Saturday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team defeated Mount St. Mary's, 12-8, at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on Mount Carmel Campus.

Freshman Billy Oppenheimer (Conshohocken,Pa.) notched a career high of four points on Saturday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac's Men's Lacrosse team fell short to Binghamton, 11-9, at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestel, N.Y. Quinnipiac, now 3-4, on the season, has suffered four straight losses by two or fewer goals, while the hosting Bearcats improved to 4-4 on the season.

Quinnipiac mounted a furious second half comeback to erase a four-goal deficit but two late Fairfield tallies proved to be the difference in the final outcome.

In a game that featured two of the nation’s five remaining undefeated teams, it was the visiting Friars of Providence College who came out on top with a 13-12 victory over the Bobcats at the QU Lacrosse Turf Field on a rainy Tuesday afternoon in Hamden, Conn. Providence regained the lead with three goals in the fourth quarter, and left Quinnipiac with a loss, the first of its season, to the New England rival.

Seniors Basil Kostaras (Southlake, Texas), Jay Binkowski (Bethany, Conn.), Chris Messina (West Islip, N.Y.) and Brendan Wilbur (Hingham, Mass.) are set to captain the 2013 Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team this spring. In search for their first Northeast Conference Tournament title, head coach Erik Fekete has announced that these four seniors will lead the way.

Men's Lacrosse Partakes In HEADstrong's Mustache Madness
The Quinnipiac University men’s lacrosse team is taking part in the fourth annual Lacrosse Mustache Madness, a nation-wide fundraiser working in conjunction with the HEADstrong Foundation to raise money and awareness for blood cancers. Last year the lacrosse community collected over $95,000 for the establishment, a mark they look to surpass in 2012.
