HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Director of Athletics and Recreation Jack McDonald and Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Eric Fekete have announced that Bill Tully has been hired as an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse program. Tully comes to QU from the University of Detroit Mercy where he served as an assistant coach for the Titans last year.

"I am very pleased to announce that Bill Tully will be joining our staff as an assistant for the upcoming 2013 season," said Fekete. "He comes to Hamden with the highest recommendations and quality experience. We welcome some new influences on the practice field and look forward to his overall contribution."

Tully previously held the position of Second Assistant Coach during the 2012 men's lacrosse season at Detroit Mercy. As the Titans' offensive coordinator, Tully led a potent attack that ranked 36th in scoring offense (9.4 goals per game) – a mark that placed them second in the MAAC. In addition to managing the offense, Tully assisted with recruiting, film break down, game preparation and practice planning.

Prior to Detroit Mercy, Tully was the First Assistant Coach at Whittier College in California. For two years, he assisted with the daily operations related to practice planning, game preparation, substitutions, budgeting and fundraising for the team. His main responsibilities once again resided on the offensive end, helping the squad to a 13-13 record during his time.

A 2004 graduate of Gettysburg College, Tully was a member of the Bullets football team for three seasons. He attended his first year of college at Villanova, where he played one year of lacrosse for the Wildcats.

Tully received his bachelor of arts in political science from Gettysburg and then went on to earn a master's of education in administration from Detroit Mercy.

The native of Philadelphia, Pa., currently resides in New Haven.

The 2012 fall season begins on Sunday, October 7, when the Bobcats travel to Thayer Academy in Braintree, Mass. for the Catamount Classic. Faceoff is set for 8 a.m.
