We have a quick turnaround with Bryant coming to Hamden this Saturday. We were given Wednesday off to catch our wind and prepare to have two solid practices to get ready for the Bulldogs. This Saturday is going to be another tough matchup... Bryant is a well-coached team that is very strong both offensively and defensively. With the formation of NEC Lacrosse next season, this matchup will grow into a great rivalry.
Tuesday night was a great win versus Sacred Heart. It is always a very intense matchup between the two teams and this Tuesday was no different. Since the rivalry is so strong, the game tends to involve some trash talking and chippy play. It felt great to walk off that field and get on the bus with a 13-8 win. I hate to admit it, but Sacred Heart did have a pretty good warm-up CD...I thought about dancing but came to the realization that it was probably inappropriate given the circumstances.
The bus ride back from Sacred Heart was the last bus ride of my career. I want to thank Mike Bucchino for embracing me and being a great seat-partner this season. We had a strong bond and shared the same feelings on many of the same topics (Seinfeld, text-messaging etiquette and pre-game routines...to name a few). I am going to miss the excitement of riding on the bus after win...things such as playing charades, having "Sup Dendas" chants and knowing that practice the next day isn't going to be the worst thing ever always made the trip home enjoyable.
Next week concludes the "Kaiser's Korner Blog Series". I plan to go out with a bang...hopefully my finals don't get in the way. Good talk, see you out there. Go Bobcats.
I would like to congratulate Greg Ott, Assistant Sports Information Director, on his one year anniversary with his 2009 Honda Civic. They say the first year is the hardest...but hey, you made it.
