Kaiser's Korner: The Final Installment

If u or any other bobcats need lax/life guidance don't hesitate, that's what im here for. #25' That was a text message I received from Mike Hennessey, class of 2007, on Tuesday afternoon.

We have a quick turnaround with Bryant coming to Hamden this Saturday. We were given Wednesday off to catch our wind and prepare to have two solid practices to get ready for the Bulldogs. Kaiser's Korner: Week 8
Bellarmine comes to town on Saturday. The last two meetings with the Knights have been one-goal games in which we have prevailed. We expect this Saturday to be no different in terms of the toughness of the matchup. This is the best Bellarmine team that we will have seen in four years... but we know what to expect with them, it will be nothing new. It is going to be a down and dirty 60 minutes of lacrosse and we need to come out firing. We are 5-5 with four games left on the year...this is the first step to ending the season with a 9-5 record.

Kaiser's Korner: Week 7
Each week during the 2010 season, Quinnipiac senior Todd Kaiser will share his thoughts on the Bobcats' men's lacrosse program. #$%^4:17 A.M. - I will be honest with you that I had no idea what was going on when I awoke to the dreadful buzz coming from the little black box two-feet from my face. Unlike any other morning, I didn't have the luxury of pressing the snooze button for the next 30 minutes. Luckily I took care of everything (by that I mean throwing everything in my locker into my travel bag) the day before so all I had to do was jump in the shower and drive over to the athletic center.

Kaiser's Korner: Week 6
There isn't much to say about the Hartford game. For the third game in a row, the fourth quarter was tough. We went into the last quarter with a four goal lead but couldn't put together a good-enough 15 minutes to come out with the win. I give UHA a lot of credit; they are a good team who capitalized on their opportunities.

March 30, 2010
Kaiser's Korner: Week 5
I could go on and on about the loss to Ohio State but the team is making it a point of emphasis this week to not dwell on this loss. The game is already behind us and should not be a factor this week at practice. Don't get me wrong, we will focus on the areas that need improvement but we aren't going to let this loss bring us down...we need to come out swinging this Saturday versus the University of Hartford.

On Friday morning, we boarded our DATTCO bus and traveled to Geneva, New York. We left campus ready to take on the Hobart Statesmen in our second ECAC match-up of the season. Kaiser's Korner: Week 3
Spring Break was a huge success both on and off the field. We started off the break by having a real nice win against Wagner. The team tallied 20 goals for the first time since 2002 with 18 different guys registering a point. The following day we flew out to Detroit ready to take on Detroit-Mercy that Sunday. We had a real efficient pre-game practice full of energy and intensity which set the tone going into the game. Perhaps we were a little too intense...we committed nine penalties. Luckily our man-down defense is ridiculous and didn't let them to capitalize on their man-up opportunities. We were sloppy at points but kept a safe lead throughout the game to come away with a 13-8 victory. We flew back to Connecticut after the game on probably the hottest flight that I have even been on...freshman Jake Emms looked like he had just jumped into a pool he was sweating so much.

March 7, 2010
Kaiser's Korner: Week 2
The one good thing that comes from losing is that it really shines a light on the areas that need improvement. It was obvious from the loss that we need to clean up our stick skills. As a team, we committed 26 turnovers...it is almost impossible to win a game when that many turnovers are made. Over the last few days at practice we have put an emphasis on making better decisions with the ball and throwing clean/crisp passes.
