Bobcats Face Red Storm In Queens
The Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team travels to Queens, N.Y., Saturday to take on St. John's. The Bobcats won their season opener at Wagner, 13-5 last weekend. St. John's also earned a road victory, 10-5, against Holy Cross, in their first game of the year.
Scouting the St. John's Red Storm
The Red Storm was led by three freshmen in its 10-5 win at Holy Cross, Feb. 14. Carl Iacona scored three goals, while Matt Hurst scored a goal and dished out two assists. Harry Kutner added a pair of goals to round out the freshman contributions. Gavin Buckley stopped 10 shots to earn the win in net.
Dimond Sparkles In Opener
Junior Ted Dimond scored three goals to lead the Bobcats to a 13-5 win at Wagner, Feb. 14. Dimond led the Bobcats with 17 goals in 2008.
The Quinnipiac Poll
Quinnipiac jumped three spots in this week's New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll into the fifth position following the Bobcats' 13-5 win, Feb. 14 at Wagner.

Goalie Kevin Benzing stopped 15 Wagner shots, while allowing just five goals at Wagner.
Mullaney Picks Up His Game
Ben Mullaney scooped up seven ground balls and won 12-of-20 face-offs in the Bobcats' season opener at Wagner.
Top Cats Return
Top point scorers Gary Messina, Ted Dimond and Garett Kerr all return for the Bobcats. Messina led Quinnipiac with 26 points, including 10 goals and a team-high 16 assists last season. Dimond scored a team-high 17 goals, while Kerr added 16 goals.

2008 All-GWLL Second Team selection Drew Maceranka returns to the Bobcats as an assistant coach. Maceranka anchored the Quinnipiac defense last season and earned a spot on the North team at the USILA North/South All-Star Game.
The Bobcats continue their four-game road stretch to begin the season with a Feb. 28 meeting with Lafayette. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
