The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team was ranked 8th in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll, as released on Monday, Feb. 24. Quinnipiac is 21-8-5 overall and 11-6-3 in ECAC Hockey.
Quinnipiac lost twice this past weekend, falling to No. 13 Cornell, 2-1, and No. 19 Colgate, 3-1, at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. Tommy Schutt (Chanhassen, Minn.) scored Quinnipiac's only goal on Friday night while Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) found the back of the net on Senior Night on Saturday against Colgate.
Quinnipiac is back in action this weekend when it travels to St. Lawrence on Friday, Oct. 28 and Clarkson on Saturday, Mar. 1. Quinnipiac currently sits in third place in the league standings - two points behind second-place Colgate and a point ahead of fourth-place Cornell. A tie or win in either game this weekend will clinch the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament.
