Quinnipiac was ranked 5th in the latest USCHO.com Division I Poll, released on Monday, Feb. 17. Quinnipiac split their ECAC Hockey games this weekend, blanking No. 13 Yale, 4-0, before falling to Brown, 4-2, on Saturday. Quinnipiac is currently 21-6-5 overall and 11-4-3 in ECAC Hockey play.
Heading into the weekend, Quinnipiac currently sits in second place in the league standings with 25 points, ensuring them the sixth-seed or higher. A win against Cornell on Friday night would clinch the fourth seed, and a first round bye, in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, while a Bobcats win against the Big Red combined with a Union win at home against Clarkson would clinch the third seed in the tournament. Two consecutive wins this weekend would clinch the No. 2 spot for the Bobcats.
Quinnipiac returns home next weekend when it hosts Cornell on Friday, Feb. 21 and Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 22, with both games available on New England Sports Network (NESN). Quinnipiac Athletics and High Point Solutions Arena will host Senior Night festivities prior to the start of the Bobcats' tilt against Colgate.
