Quinnipiac seniors Connor and Kellen Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) were nominated for the prestigious Hobey Baker Memorial Award on Monday, Jan. 13. Bobcat fans can vote once a day for their favorite player.
Connor currently checks-in with seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in Quinnipiac's first 25 games of the season. He and twin brother, Kellen - also nominated for the award -were featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces In The Crowd after becoming the fifth set of brothers in NCAA history to reach 100 career points while playing together. Connor became the 31st player in Quinnipiac history to reach the 100-point mark in the Bobcats 7-2 win against Colgate on Nov. 1.
Kellen reached the 100-point mark against Princeton two weeks later. To date, he is currently tied for the team-lead in assists (16) while ranking second in goals (13) for 29 points, good for 12th in the country. Kellen also leads NCAA Division I hockey in short-handed goals (3), and In his last 11 games, he's compiled 9 goals and 6 assists for 15 points, including Has four goals and two assists in Quinnipiac's current five-game unbeaten streak.
