Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Ranked 5th In USCHO.com Division I Poll on Monday, Nov. 25

The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team was ranked 5th in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll, announced on Monday, Nov. 25. The Bobcats are 12-2-1 on the season including a 6-1-1 record in ECAC Hockey play.

This past weekend, the Bobcats split an ECAC Hockey home-and-home series against Princeton, topping the Tigers, 3-0, on Friday night in New Jersey before losing the back-end of the two-game set on Saturday night in Hamden, 4-3.

In a 1-1 week, Kellen Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) led Quinnipiac and ECAC Hockey in goals (3) and points (4). On Friday night at Princeton, Kellen became the 35th player in Quinnipiac history, and the 21st at the Division I level, to reach 100 career points with a goal against the Tigers. In a 4-3 loss on Saturday, Jones had two goals and an assist. For the year, Jones leads Quinnipiac with 11 assists, while his seven assists give him 18 points for the season.

Sam Anas led all Quinnipiac freshman with two goals and two assists. Anas posted one-goal, one-assist outings in a 3-0 win at Princeton and in a 4-3 loss at home to the Tigers. On Saturday night, Anas scored his team-leading 10th goal of the year to become just the 10 Quinnipiac freshman in program history to score 10 goals in his first season. For the weekend, Anas led all ECAC Hockey freshman in goals (2), assists (2) and points. For the year, he leads Quinnipiac in goals (10) and points (20). 

Quinnipiac returns to action when its hosts Providence College on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. On Saturday, Nov. 30, the Bobcats welcome the University of Massachusetts to town. Both games can be seen live on SNY in high definition, where available. Following Saturday night's game against UMass, Quinnipiac fans can see the first installment of this season's "Bobcats Unleashed in HD" - the Emmy Nominated highlight show produced on Quinnipiac University's campus - at 9:30 p.m.
