Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold will be a guest on the immensely popular USCHO Live on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 8 p.m.
USCHO Live is hosted by Jim Connelly and Ed Trefzger, writers for USCHO.com. Each show features a look at news around NCAA hockey, a look ahead at upcoming games and events, and conversation with people who coach and play college hockey and journalists who cover the sport.
Quinnipiac is currently 8-1-0, winners of eight straight and are coming off a pair of season-opening ECAC Hockey wins en route to the No. 5 ranking in the USCHO.com Division I poll. Pecknold, now in his 20th year at Quinnipiac, ranks sixth among active head coached with 373 wins to date. Pecknold holds an overall career record 375-239-66 for a .600 winning percentage.
Last season, Pecknold guided the Bobcats to their first NCAA Tournament win, the East Regional Championship and a win in the NCAA Frozen Four before losing the national championship game. For his efforts, Pecknold was recognized as the ECAC Hockey Tim Taylor Coach of the Year, the New England Hockey Writers Association Clark Hodder Coach of the Year and a finalist for the Spencer Penrose National Coach of the Year award after Quinnipiac won a program-record 30 games and the ECAC Hockey "Clear Cup" Regular-Season Championship.
Quinnipiac resumes ECAC Hockey play when it hosts Brown on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Bobcats host No. 9 Yale for the 12th Annual Heroes Hat game and the re-match of the 2013 NCAA National Championship Game.
