The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team was ranked 14th in the latest USCHO.com Division I Poll, released on Monday, Oct. 14.

Quinnipiac is coming off a weekend series at the Kendall Hockey Classic in Anchorage, Alaska that saw the Bobcats fall to Alaska-Anchorage, 3-1, before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory against Alaska-Fairbanks. Freshman Sam Anas (Potomac, Md.) earned All-Tournament honors after registering a goal and two assists in Quinnipiac win against Alaska-Fairbanks. In that game, Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario) had two assists while Connor Clifton (Matawan, N.J.) and Derek Smith (Apple Valley, Minn.) also scored their first career goals. Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) picked up his first goal of the season while goalie Michael Garteig (Prince George, British Columbia) picked up his first career victory after stopping 24 of the Nanooks' 25 shots-on-goal.

Quinnipiac is back in action this weekend when it travels to No. 9 UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 18 before hosting the River Hawks for its home-opener on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.
