2013 ECAC Hockey Championship Homepage

ECAC Hockey top-seed Quinnipiac men's ice hockey will host tournament No. 9 seed for the ECAC Hockey Championship Quarterfinals on Mar. 15-17. The best-of-three games series is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 15, Saturday, Mar. 16 and Sunday, Mar. 17 if necessary. Saturday's game will also be available live on NESN.

Quinnipiac clinches its first ECAC Hockey Regular-Season Championship, the Cleary Cup, and received a bye in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament this weekend. Cornell, the No. 9 seed in the tournament, upset No. 8 seed Princeton, 4-0 and 4-2. The ECAC Hockey Championship Semifinals are set for Friday, Mar. 22 with the Championship Game set for Saturday, Mar. 23. Quinnipiac swept Cornell this season, 4-1 at home on Nov. 10 and 4-0 in Ithaca, N.Y. on Feb. 8. Quinnipiac is 3-2-0 in two ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series (2007, 2011) all-time. The Bobcats swept Cornell on their home ice in 2007 to advance to the ECAC Hockey Semifinals, and eventually the Championship Game. In 2011, the Bobcats lost the first game at Lynah Rink before winning the second and forcing a deciding Game 3, which Cornell won.

Quinnipiac is currently 24-5-5 overall and ranked No. 1 in the Division I Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Polls. Quinnipiac also remains No. 1 in the PairWise Rankings, a system which mimics the NCAA selection committee's criteria for the seeding of the NCAA Tournament, which it has held down since Jan. 19, 2013.
