Nationally-ranked No. 5 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey will be featured on WTNH-TV Channel 8 News this evening during the 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. segments. The feature, pieced together by John Pierson, draws attention to the success the Bobcats have enjoyed over the course of this season. Led by head coach Rand Pecknold, Quinnipiac has quickly risen among the men's ice hockey ranks, cracking the top-five for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.
Pecknold and senior captain Zack Currie (Victoria, British Columbia) both sat down with Pierson prior to their practice on Monday morning. This past weekend, the Bobcats extended their NCAA-leading unbeaten streak to 14 games (13-0-1) with wins over nationally-ranked No. 8 Dartmouth and Harvard. Quinnipiac improved to 16-3-2 overall and 10-0-0 in ECAC Hockey competition.
Quinnipiac returns to action when it hosts Rensselaer on Friday, Jan. 11 and Union on Saturday, Jan. 12, with both games set for a 7 p.m. start.
