Nationally-ranked No. 11/13 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey was named the College Hockey News Team of the Week as announced by the popular website on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Quinnipiac rattled off wins against No. 7/8 Union - a 4-0 shutout on the Dutchmen's home ice - and Renssealer, 3-1, this past weekend. In doing so, the Bobcats ran their perfect ECAC Hockey record to 6-0-0 for first place in the league standings while their unbeaten streak reaches eight games.
In addition, Eric Hartzell was named the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week. Hartzell had a brilliant weekend, posting a 2-0-0 record that features a shutout against nationally-ranked No. 7/8 Union, 4-0 on Friday, Nov. 30, before holding Rensselaer to one goal in a 3-1 win in Troy, N.Y. Hartzell stopped 41-of-42 shots on goal, for a .976 save percentage, including all 20 against Union and 21 of 21 against RPI. In 119:57 seconds of action in net, Hartzell allowed just one goal for a 0.50 goals-against average. For the year, Hartzell improved to 10-2-2 (6-0-0 ECAC Hockey) with a 1.41 goals-against average (1.33 ECAC Hockey) and a .934 save percentage (.933 ECAC Hockey).
