Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Falls To Robert Morris, 4-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team lost to Robert Morris, 3-0, in a non-conference match-up  at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. The loss is the Bobcats' first of the season of the season as they drop to 2-1-0 on the season. Robert Morris picks up its first victory to improve to 1-1-0.

Quinnipiac goalie Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) took his first loss of the season after allowing two goals on 14 shots before being lifted in favor of freshman Michael Garteig (Prince George, British Columbia). Garteig stopped seven of the eight shots on goal by the Colonials.

Tyler Hinds put Robert Morris out in front with his first goal of the season at the 17:27 mark of the first period. Hinds took a pass from Dan Friedman and wristed a shot that beat Hartzell, top-shelf.

Zach Hervato made the score 2-0 when he scored on a wrap-around, stuffing the puck just inside the post as Hartzell attempted the kick save. He was set-up on the play by Jeff Jones and Colin South. Hervato gave RMU a three-goal lead with his second goal of the game just 2:41 into the third period as the Colonials on a pass from Evan Moore. Adam Brace added an empty-netter for the Colonials in their 4-0 win.

Quinnipiac will host Ohio State on Oct. 19-20, with Saturday's slated for a 4 p.m. start, at the High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.
