Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey's ECAC Hockey Tilt Against Yale On Feb. 22 To Be Nationally Televised On NBC Sports
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team's game against Yale on Feb. 22 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center will be televised live on NBC Sports Network. The game, which is also the 11th Annual Heroes Hat game, is one of 24 college ice hockey games being televised nationally by NBC.
The Bobcats' game against its Elm City and ECAC Hockey rival on the NBC Sports Network will be one of many ice hockey and basketball games to be televised by Quinnipiac, as well as the Northeast Conference, during the 2012-13 season. The complete schedule is expected to be released for the Ice Hockey Media Reception on October 2, 2012.
"We are very excited to begin our second season of college hockey by offering more coverage than last year," said Jon Miller, President, Programming NBC Sports and NBC Sports Network. "NBC Sports Network will start the season two months earlier this year, providing sports fans with even more national primetime coverage of the nation's best college hockey."
NBC Sports' 2012-13 television schedule features eight more games than last season, its first televising a full slate of college hockey games. By compiling a schedule of contests from ECAC Hockey, Hockey East, the University of Denver, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Omaha, NBC Sports Network will air 24 games, including two appearances by preseason No. 1 Boston College.
