Quinnipiac men's ice hockey head coach Rand Pecknold, as well as assistant coaches Bill Riga and Reid Cashman, held a coaches clinic on Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Sports Center of Connecticut in Shelton, Conn.
The Bobcats' coaches held the coaching seminar for the Bridgeport Youth Hockey league's coaches before taking the group through a series on on-ice drills. The coaches received instructions from Pecknold, who is entering his 18th year at Quinnipiac, on the planning and implementation of practice sessions with emphasis on proper drill work.
Several Bobcat players were also in attendance in addition to Pecknold, Riga and Cashman. The event was part of Quinnipiac's Department of Athletics & Recreation's Positive Play initiative, which encourages community involvement by its student-athletes, coaches and staff.
