The eighth-seeded Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team goes for the
ECAC Hockey Tournament First Round Series sweep tonight against
Brown. Last night, the Bobcats rolled to a 4-0 win behind a 22-save
shutout from junior goalie Dan Clarke while four different
Quinnipiac skaters scored in the victory.
Playoff Format
Rensselaer, Princeton, Clarkson and Quinnipiac will host first
round series while Union, Yale, Dartmouth and Cornell received
first round byes and will host quarterfinal series. Next weekend's
Quarterfinal pairings will be made after the first round series
with No. 1 Union hosting the highest remaining seed; No. 2 Yale
will host the second-highest remaining seed; No. 3 Dartmouth will
host the third-highest remaining seed and No. 4 Cornell hosting the
fourth-highest remaining seed. The ECAC Hockey Championship
Semifinals and Championship Game will be played on March 18 &
19 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament History
Including last night's win, the Bobcats hold an 17-11 all-time
record in the ECAC Hockey Championship tournament. The Bobcats'
carry an 11-2 record in the first round of the tournament,
including an 9-2 record at the TD Bank Sports Center, while posting
a 5-8 mark in quarterfinal games. Quinnipiac is 1-0 in semifinal
games and 0-1 in the championship game. Quinnipiac's most
successful postseason came in 2007 when the Bobcats swept Union at
home before upsetting Cornell at Lynah Rink in two games in the
quarterfinals. Quinnipiac continued their run, knocking off St.
Lawrence, 4-0, in the semifinals before falling to Clarkson in the
Championship Game, 4-2. Quinnipiac led in that game, 2-0.
All-Time Against Brown
With last night's victory, Quinnipiac is now 9-4-2 in 15 games
all-time against Brown. Both ties occurred this season, 3-3 in
Providence on Nov. 15 and 2-2 in Hamden on Feb. 19. Quinnipiac won
seven of the first nine meetings between the two teams, but have
posted a 2-2-2 record in their last six meetings. Quinnipiac is
5-1-1 all-time at the TD Bank Sports Center against the Bears and
3-0-0 all-time in the ECAC Hockey Tournament.
Last Time Out
In last night's 4-0 win, Jeremy Langlois' goal to put Quinnipiac
on the board, just 15 seconds into the game, was the second fastest
in Quinnipiac and ECAC Hockey Tournament History.
First For Everything
Yuri Bouharevich, Zach Hansen and Kellen Jones all scored their
first career ECAC Hockey Tournament goals in the Bobcats win last
night.
Spreading The Wealth
While no single player turned in a multi-point night, 10 different
Bobcats collected points in QU's 4-0 win against Brown. Ben Arnt,
Mike Dalhuisen, Scott Zurevinski, Connor Jones, Russell Goodman and
Loren Barron all picked up assists.

From The Blue Line
Loren Barron pushed his team-leading assist total to 16 with an
apple on Jeremy Langlois' goal against Brown on Friday night.
Barron is the first Quinnipiac defenseman since former All-American
Reid Cashman to lead the team in assists.
