Weekend Series In Minnesota
The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team will travel to St.
Cloud, Minn. to take on No. 17 St. Cloud State in a two-game series
on Oct. 29-30. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. CST (8
p.m. EST).
The
Bobcats
Quinnipiac just completed a four-game home stretch to open the year
with wins in three of the four contests. They received votes in the
USCHO.com poll for the fourth straight week on Monday, Oct. 25.

All-Time Against St. Cloud State
Last year's two-game series at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden,
Conn. were the first two games between the two teams, with St.
Cloud State winning on Friday, Jan. 15, 3-1, and Saturday, Jan. 16,
3-2.
Scouting St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State is currently 2-3-1 entering this weekend's series
and aree currently ranked 17th in the USCHO.com Division I poll and
is receiving votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I
poll. After a season-opening win against Rochester Institute of
Technology, 3-1 on Oct. 8 at the Mutual of Omaha Stampede in
Nebraska, the Huskies lost in the championship game of the
Stampede, 6-2, to Clarkson. They then lost the first game of a
two-game set against Miami, 6-3, before tying the Hawks, 1-1, in
the second game of the series. They defeated Minnesota on Oct. 22
before losing their last time out, 2-1, against the Gophers.
Garrett Roe leads the Huskies with one goal and a team-high five
assists for a team-leading six points, while Drew LeBlanc (1-4-5)
sits in second. 13 different players have scored for St. Cloud
through its first six games, including Tony Mosey, Jared Festler
and Ben Hanowski, each with a team-leading two goals.
Big
Crowd
On Saturday, Oct. 23, 3,891 packed the seats at the TD Bank Sports
Center for the Bobcats' 3-1 win against Holy Cross. The crowd was
the largest in the arena's history against a non-conference
opponent.

Kellen Back
In a 3-1 win against Holy Cross on Saturday, Kellen Jones scored
his first two career goals. Jones leads the team in goals (2),
assists (3) and points (5).
Good
Start Clarkie
Goalie Dan Clarke picked up where he left off after an impressive
sophomore season in which he was named the Bobcats' Most Valuable
Player. Through four games in 2010-11, Clarke is 3-1-0 for a .750
winning percentage, second in ECAC Hockey. Clarke is also ranked
third in ECAC Hockey in goals-against average (2.00) and fourth in
save percentage (.925).
Really Impressive
Quinnipiac is 48-0-4 in its last 52 games in which it has led
heading into the third period. It's last loss when leading after
two periods came on March 17, 2007 against Clarkson in the ECAC
Hockey Championship.
Keeping Up With The Joneses
In a 3-2 win against Bentley, Connor and Kellen Jones (Montrose,
British Columbia) combined for four points between the two of them,
with Connor scoring his first career goal while also picking up an
assist. Kellen had an assist on Connor's and Russell Goodman's
(Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) power-play goals.
Natural Leaders
Speaking of the Jones boys, Connor is tied for the team lead in
goals (one) and points (three), the latter with twin Kellen. Kellen
currently leads the Bobcats with three assists.
Plus/Minus Leaders
Through Quinnipiac's first four games, Loren Barron (Glendora,
Calif.), Spencer Heichman (Yorba Linda, Calif.), Yuri Bouharevich
(Montreal, Quebec) and Zach Tolkinen (Lino Lakes, Minn.) are all
tied for the team lead at +2.
Youth Movement
Connor and Kellen Jones are two of 19 first-year NCAA Divsion I
men's ice hockey players to average a point per game through last
weekend's games.
Shot
Blockers
Through Quinnipiac's first four games, the Bobcats have blocked 73
of their opponents' shots. Spencer Heichman and Scott Zurevinski
are both tied for the team lead with eight while Zach Davies sits
in second with seven. Loren Barron, Yuri Bouharevich, Jeremy
Langlois and Mike Glaicar each have six blocked shots to their
credit.

And Counting
Head coach Rand Pecknold picked up his 175th career home win on
Saturday, Oct. 23 in a 3-1 victory against Holy Cross.
