The No. 7/8 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team heads to
Worcester, Mass. on Thursday, Dec. 10 to take on the College of
Holy Cross in a non-conference match-up at the Hart Center at 7
p.m. Quinnipiac is 12-3-0 overall and looking to bounce back from
back-to-back losses last weekend. Holy Cross is 4-9-3 and will host
the Bobcats after a tie and a loss to RIT last weekend.
Broadcast News
Bill Schweizer will have the play-by-play for both game's this
weekend and will be joined alongside by color commentator Chris
Kotsopoulos.
All-Time Against Holy Cross
Quinnipiac is 17-5-3 all-time against Holy Cross, dating back to
their first meeting during the 1997-98 season. Quinnipiac has won
two straight against Holy Cross and seven of the last 10 meetings
between the two teams.
Scouting The Crusaders
Holy Cross is currently 4-9-3 overall, including a 4-6-3 mark in
Atlantic Hockey. Everett Sheen paces the Crusaders with 12 points
on a team-high seven goals to go along with five assists. Jordan
Cyr, Brodie Sheahan and Jay Silvia have all scored five goals
through Holy Cross' 16 games, while Cyr has also chipped in with
six assists. Rob Linsmayer and Mike Daly lead the team with seven
assists apiece.
Milestone Marker
Brandon Wong became the 11th player in Quinnipiac history, as well
as the sixth at the Division I level, to reach the 60-goal mark
with a marker against Brown on Saturday, Dec. 5.
Impressive Information
Wong is one of two active players in NCAA Division I hockey, to
score 60 goals and assist on 60 more for his career. St. Cloud
State's Ryan Lasch has totaled 68 goals and 80 assists for his
career. Wong is second among active career scoring leaders. He is
one of five players in the nation to score 50 goals and assist on
50 more for his career.
Three With 30 And 30
For their careers, Jean-Marc Beaudoin (34 goals, 45 assists), Eric
Lampe (43-43) and Brandon Wong (60-64) have all reached the
30-goal, 30-assist mark. The trio makes Quinnipiac one of seven
teams in NCAA Division I hockey to feature three players with at
least 30 goals and 30 assists for their career.

Has Awoken
Wong became the first Quinnipiac player this season to score two
goals in back-to-back games, scoring twice against UMass on Nov. 28
and twice against Yale on Dec. 4. He leads Quinnipiac with nine
multiple-point games and is one of three Bobcats, along with Eric
Lampe and Jeremy Langlois, with two multiple-goal games.
All-Time High
On Monday, Nov. 30, the Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team
received it's highest ranking in program history when the USCHO.com
Division I Men's Ice Hockey Poll featured the Bobcats in 4th place
among all NCAA Division I teams. In addition, Quinnipiac received
first-place votes for the first time as the Bobcats collected
seven. The USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine ranked Quinnipiac 6th,
with one first-place vote.

On Dec. 7, 2009 The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team was
ranked in the Top 10 nationally for the third consecutive week.
Quinnipiac ranked 7th in the USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll, and
8th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and INCH Power Rankings.
Quinnipiac is currently 12-3-0 overall and 7-2-0 in league play for
first place in the ECAC Hockey standings.
PairWise Rankings
The Bobcats were also fifth in the PairWise Rankings.The PairWise
Rankings are a subjective ranking system that is used to determing
the NCAA Tournament field.
What
do UMass and Robert Morris Have In Common?
Saturday's win against UMass marked the second time this season
that five different players (Brandon Wong, Jean-Marc Beaudoin, Mike
Atkinson, Eric Lampe and Zach Hansen) recorded multiple points in a
game.
Heckuva Month
November, 2009 marked the first time in Quinnipiac's program
history - since their inaugural 1975-76 season - that they have won
eight games in a month.
Three-Spot
Last Saturday's match-up against UMass featured 10 different
Bobcats totaling a point in the win, marking just the third time
this season (Robert Morris, 10/30; St. Lawrence, 11/7) that
Quinnipiac has accomplished the feat.
First Time
The Bobcats had never opened their ECAC Hockey schedule with seven
wins in their first seven league games.
HCA
Player of the Month
Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ont.) was named the Hockey Commissioner's
Association (HCA) Player of the Month for November. Clarke was
7-0-0 to help the Bobcats to a perfect 8-0-0 record for the month
while capturing a pair of ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week awards.
Clarke stopped 201 of the 215 shots he faced in November for a .935
save percentage, including 60 of 63 shots in a two-game weekend
sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth. Clarke allowed just 14 goals during
seven games played for a goals-against average of 2.00, which
included victories over then No. 5 Cornell and then No. 10
Massachusetts. Clarke's save percentage for the season is .932 and
his GAA is 2.24.
Number Crunching
The Bobcats are one of four teams in Division I hockey, along with
Yale, Wisconsin and Bemidji State, to average four or more goals a
game. The Bobcats have scored five goals in a game seven times,
and have been held to fewer than four goals three times through
their first 15 games.
Closing The Door
Last season, Quinnipiac was 16-0-0 in games in which it led after
the second period. In their last 42 games in that scenario, dating
back three seasons, Quinnipiac is undefeated at 39-0-3 when playing
with a lead heading into the final frame. The Bobcats last
loss,when leading after the second period, came in the 2006-07 ECAC
Hockey Championship Game when Clarkson scored four third period
goals to come-from-behind and take the league crown.

Since the door's opened on Quinnipiac University's state-of-the-art
arena on Jan. 27, 2007, the Bobcats have played 50 games on their
home ice, posting a 31-16-5 record.
