In addition to the USCHO.com poll, Quinnipiac remained just outside of INCH's Power Rankings, holding strong to the "Bubble-licious" tag. Quinnipiac also received 20 votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I poll. The Bobcats will look to extend their season-opening win streak to five games when they play the Colonials this weekend. Quinnipiac's best start in the Division I era landed during the 1998-99 season when the Bobcats opened the year at 6-0 before winning 14 of their first 15 games of the season.
Quinnipiac is led on the offensive end by Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.) who leads Quinnipiac, as well as ECAC Hockey, with two goals and four assists for a team- and league-high six points. Of Quinnipiac's 10 goals through three games, the senior center has had a hand in six of them. Wong's goal against Ohio State in the Bobcats' season opener was the 50th of his career, making him the 9th player in Quinnipiac Division I history to reach the 50-goal mark and the 16th all-time.
The USCHO.com/CBS College Sports Poll consists of 50 voters, including 28 coaches from the Division I conferences and 22 beat writers and sports professionals from across the country. CBS College Sports operates a 24-hour college sports cable network, also available via DISH and DirecTV satellite.
