All-Time
Against Dartmouth
Quinnipiac is 3-3-1 all-time against the Big Green with their last
win coming on Jan. 6, 2008 at the TD Banknorth Sports Center when
the Bobcats came away with a 5-3 victory. Quinnipiac is 2-1-0
all-time on their home ice, including a 1-1-0 mark at the TD
Banknorth Sports Center.
Opportunity
Knocks
With a 5-2 win over Harvard last night, the Bobcats leaped past the
Crimson and Dartmouth, tied for fourth with 10 points, in the ECAC
Hockey standings. A win would provide some breathing space between
the Bobcats and their league foes heading into their weekend series
against RPI and Union.
They're Streaking
Bryan Leitch and David Marshall are the first Quinnipiac teammates
in the Bobcats' Division I history to record a goal and an assist
in 10 consecutive games.
Nice Job Bud
With a save late in the third period against Harvard, Bud Fisher
joined Jamie Holden as the only two goalies in Quinnipiac history
to record 2,500 saves. Holden holds the all-time record with
2,879.
The King Fish(er)
Fisher's back-to-back wins against Merrimack (4-3, Dec. 29, 2008)
and Harvard (5-2, Jan. 2, 2009) give him 54 all-time. He trails
career leaders Jamie Holden and Justin Eddy, who each totaled 59
wins over their career.
Already Off To A Career Year
With five goals and 10 assists in nine ECAC Hockey games this
season, Bryan Leitch's 15 points already surpass his eight goals
and six assists for 14 points in 22 league games last season.
Leitch has totaled six goals and 23 assists for 29 points in 17
games, leave him four points short of the 33 he scored last
year.
Elite Company
With 10 goals and 11 assists through 17 games, David Marshall is
the first ECAC Hockey player this season to reach double figures in
both scoring categories. In addition, he is one of just nine
players in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey with double figures in
both stat categories and the only player to do so in fewer than 18
games.
Johnny Be Goode
Jean-Marc Beaudoin scored twice in Quinnipiac's 5-2 win over
Harvard on Friday night. The junior wing turned in his first
multi-goal game of the season and his third all-time. Beaudoin has
totaled five goals and five assist through 17 games played for 10
points.
One-and-Two
Bryan Leitch (29 points) and David Marshall (21 points) currently
hold down the top two spots among the ECAC Hockey scoring
leaders.
Closing The Door
This season, Quinnipiac is 9-0-0 in games in which it is leading
after the second period. In their last 30 games, dating back to
last season, Quinnipiac is undefeated at 27-0-3 when playing with a
lead heading into the final frame. The Bobcats last loss, when
leading after the second period, came in the 2006-07 ECAC Hockey
Championship Game when Clarkson scored four third period goals to
come-from-behind and take the league crown.
Chart Topper
Bryan Leitch is currently ranked first in NCAA Division I hockey in
points per game (1.71), assists (23) and assists per game (1.35).
Leitch has totaled five goals in addition to his 23 assists for 29
points in 17 games.
David Is Goliath
Not only is David Marshall climbing up the Quinnipiac
all-time charts, but he is moved into the top 25 in points per game
in NCAA Division I hockey. Marshall, with 10 goals and 11 assists
for 21 points, is currently ranked 21st overall with 1.24 points
per game. He's also ranked 13th nationally in goals per game
(0.59). The senior wing also leads the country with four
game-winning goals.
The Offense Is Hitting On All Cylinders
Quinnipiac is currently ranked 20th in the nation in scoring
offense at 3.18 per game. The Bobcats have scored four or more
goals in 11 of their 17 games including six games with five or more
goals.
The Defense Is Working Too
Quinnipiac is ranked 15th in the nation in scoring defense as
they've held the opposition to 38 goals in 17 games for a 2.24
average. The Bobcats have held teams to two or fewer goals in 12 of
their 17 games, including seven of their last nine games.
Marginal Achievements
Quinnipiac is ranked 12th nationally in scoring margin as
they have outscored their opponents 54-38 over 17 games for a 0.94
average. It's also the second best mark in ECAC Hockey.
Use It To Your Advantage
Nationally on the penalty kill, the Bobcats rank fifth at 90.9%
after killing 90 of 99 opponent power-plays. The Bobcats are also
ranked ninth in combined special teams at 54% (107-198).
