Quinnipiac Hosts 2014 Connecticut 6 Classic on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014
For the first time in the history of the event, the 2014 Connecticut 6 Classic will be hosted by Quinnipiac University at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut. The college men’s basketball tripleheader includes six of the state’s Division I programs, the sixth time that the event will tip-off. The first game features Central Connecticut State University against Fairfield University at 3 p.m., followed by Yale and Quinnipiac at 5:30 p.m. The tripleheader concludes at 8 p.m. when the University of Hartford takes on Sacred Heart University.

Ike Azotam and Umar Shannon Sign Professional Contracts to play Overseas
The list of Quinnipiac men’s basketball players to move into the professional ranks continues to grow for head coach Tom Moore. Former standouts Ike Azotam and Umar Shannon have both inked contracts to continue playing basketball overseas in 2014-15. Azotam has signed with Marin Peixegalego in Spain while Shannon will head to KB Besa Peja in the Republic of Kosovo. Terms of the agreements have not been disclosed.

Ousmane Drame Leads Bobcats to 70-61 Victory over Monmouth
“I was really thrilled with the play of Ousmane Drame tonight, he was terrific,” commented Quinnipiac men’s basketball head coach Tom Moore after Thursday night’s game. Drame posted career highs of 21 rebounds and seven blocked shots in helping the Bobcats to a 70-61 victory over Monmouth at the TD Bank Sports Center. The seven blocks set a new QU Division I program record, while his 21 rebounds matched a Division I record that stood for some seven years. Drame added 15 points and collected his 15th career double-double in the team’s fourth win in their last five games.

Quinnipiac University men's basketball guard Evan Conti (Bayside, N.Y.) will compete for the United States in the 19th World Maccabiah Games, which are scheduled to take place in Israel, July 2013. Opening ceremony of the event is scheduled for July 18th at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.

Men’s Basketball Falls Short to LIU Brooklyn in NEC Quarterfinals, 91-83
The Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team saw its quest for an Northeast Conference Championship come to an end on Monday night, as the Bobcats were defeated by two-time defending champion LIU Brooklyn, 91-83, in the quarterfinals of the NEC Tournament. With the loss, Quinnipiac fell to 15-16 on the season while the hosting Blackbirds advance to the semifinals where they will meet Wagner College on Saturday afternoon.

Ike Azotam Awarded All-NEC and College Sports Madness Honors
For the second consecutive season, junior Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) of the Quinnipiac men's basketball team was named to the Northeast All-Conference Second Team, announced on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Azotam was the driving force behind an 11-7 record in league play and the program’s eighth straight trip to the NEC Tournament. Azotam was also selected to the College Sports Madness NEC Second Team as well.

Despite career highs for both Dave Johnson (Jackson, N.J.) and Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.), the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was defeated by LIU Brooklyn, 96-90, on Saturday night and lost its chance to host an NEC playoff game in the upcoming tournament. With the result, Quinnipiac dropped to the sixth seed and will travel back to Brooklyn to face the Blackbirds in the NEC Quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

The Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team honored its senior class in the best way possible on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats extended their winning streak to six straight games with a 69-58 victory over Bryant on Senior Day at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the win, Quinnipiac improved to 14-13 overall and climbed over the .500 mark for the first time since November. More importantly, the Bobcats, who have won eight of their last nine games, improved to 10-5 in league play. The Bobcats outscored the Bulldogs 15-8 in the extra frame en route to the 78-71 NEC triumph. QU collected its 10th win of the season with the result, improving to 10-9 overall and 3-5 in league play.

Johnson, Rutty Earn NABC All-District 18 First Team Honors
Quinnipiac University senior men's basketball forward Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) and junior guard James Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 18 First Team, the organization today announced. Rutty takes the honor for the second straight year, while Johnson earns his first honor. The 245 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division I All-America teams, to be announced on Saturday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston during the NABC Convention and NCAA? Final Four?.

Men's Basketball Falls To Robert Morris, 64-62, In NEC Semifinals
Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) had nine points and 10 rebounds to become the Northeast Conference's all-time leading rebounder (1,025), but the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was defeated by Robert Morris, 64-62, Sunday afternoon at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 22-9, while the Colonials improve to 18-13 and move on to Wednesday's NEC Tournament Championship Game at top-seeded Long Island. The Bobcats now wait for a potential at-large invitation to a postseason tournament.

Be There Bobcats! The second-seeded Quinnipiac University men's basketball team plays host to No. 3 Robert Morris in NEC Tournament Semifinal action Sunday at the TD Bank Sports Center. The game can be seen live on Fox College Sports (FCS), ESPN3.com and ESPN Full Court. The Bobcats defeated No. 7 Mount St. Mary's, 78-59 on Thursday, while RMU edged No. 6 Wagner, 78-74. Quinnipiac took the only meeting of the season between the two teams, a 69-61 victory Jan. 27 in Hamden. The teams will have a different look this time around, as Justin Rutty was playing his first game since elbow surgery first time around, and the Colonials had leading scorer Karon Abraham, who sustained a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago. The Colonials have ended the Bobcats' NEC title hopes in each of the last two seasons, defeating QU, 75-48, in the 2009 semifinals, before edging the Bobcats, 52-50, in the championship game last season. RMU holds a 15-9 advantage in the all-time series.

Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) compiled his 41st career double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds as the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team defeated Mount St. Mary's, 78-59, in Thursday night's NEC Tournament Quarterfinals at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 22-8 and advance to the NEC Tournament Semifinals, where they'll play host to third-seeded Robert Morris, Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Fox College Sports, ESPN3.com and ESPN Full Court. The Mountaineers close the season at 11-21.

The second-seeded Quinnipiac University men's basketball team plays host to No. 7 Mount St. Mary's in Northeast #$%^Conference Tournament Quarterfinal action Thursday at the TD Bank Sports Center. The teams split a pair of meetings this #$%^season, with each team winning on its home court. Both teams reached the NEC Semifinals a year ago, with the Bobcats #$%^advancing to the finals with a win against LIU, while the Mount fell at Robert Morris. Quinnipiac has met Mount St. Mary's #$%^once before in the NEC Tournament, an 80-70 loss in the quarterfinals, Mar. 6, 2008, in Emmitsburg. The Mountaineers are #$%^just 3-15 on the road this season, but put a scare into the Bobcats in Hamden on Dec. 4. James Johnson put the Bobcats' #$%^fears to rest, erupting for eight points in the final 57 seconds, including a runner with 0.5 seconds left in regulation, to win it. #$%^The Mount leads the all-time series, 13-11.

Rutty takes the honor for the third straight year, while Johnson earns his first All-NEC accolade. The awards give Quinnipiac Head Coach Tom Moore a first-team honoree in each of his four years at the helm, including four different players, and a pair of first-team selections in each of the past two years.

Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) compiled his 40th career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Quinnipiac #$%^University men's basketball team defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 71-60, in front of a season-high 3,316 on Senior Day Saturday #$%^at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the win, the Bobcats finish the regular season at 21-8 (13-5 NEC), while the Knights #$%^conclude the season at 5-24 (3-15 NEC). The 3,316 is the largest regular-season attendance figure for a basketball game at #$%^the TD Bank Sports Center since the opening of the building drew 3,570 on Jan. 27, 2007.

Quinnipiac #$%^has won its last five games and eight of its last nine, including a 64-59 victory against Monmouth Thursday that clinched the #$%^No. 2 seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team travels to New Britain Saturday afternoon for a pivotal contest against intrastate NEC rival Central Connecticut. A win would give the Bobcats the inside track on the No. 2 seed in the NEC Tournament, along with the accompanying two home games in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, should they advance so far. QU has won its last three games, two against Sacred Heart, as well as an 80-60 victory, Thursday at Bryant. James Johnson hit seven three-pointers en route to 24 points, while Justin Rutty added 16 points and 10 rebounds for his 38th career double-double. CCSU edged Sacred Heart, 57-56 on Thursday. Ken Horton had 18 points and seven rebounds. CCSU owns a 50-18 advantage in the all-time series, but Quinnipiac has won five of the last six meetings, including the last four. QU edged CCSU, 73-68, on Jan. 15.
