HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was featured in the Hartford Courant on Sunday, July 20, 2014. The story, written by columnist Mike Anthony, highlights Hearst's new leadership role for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
Hearst, a 2014 All-MAAC selection, returns for his final year of eligibility this coming fall. The 6-foot-4 wingman flourished in 2013-14, averaging 15.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Hearst reached double-figures in 25 out of the 32 games, eclipsing the 20-point plateau on 11 different occasions. It was Hearst's consistency throughout the season that helped propel Quinnipiac to 20 wins and a trip to the MAAC Semifinals in the team's first year in the new league.
