Quinnipiac Men’s Basketball Names Three to MAAC All-Academic Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Three members of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team – Umar Shannon (Atlantic City, N.J.), Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) and Emanuel Binyam (Rockville, Md.) – were named to the 2013-14 MAAC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, announced on Friday, March 7 by the league office.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released a total of 13 student-athletes that comprise the 2013-2014 Men's Basketball All-Academic Team.  To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. 

Quinnipiac University, Marist College and Monmouth University led the MAAC schools, each having three student athletes named to the all-academic team.  Rider University adds two student athletes, while Manhattan College and Siena College have one representative.
