- CBSSPORTS.COM: "Triple Threat: Why the Big Ten is still ahead of the Big 12" by Jon Rothstein (Jan. 7, 2014)
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was featured in CBSSports.com's EYEON College Basketball on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. The article, which was written by CBS Sports columnist Jon Rothstein, highlights Quinnipiac's double-digit win over Iona and the Bobcats' dominance on the backboards this year.
The Bobcats lead the nation in rebounding margin (14.1) while ranking second in total rebounding (46.4) and offensive rebounding (17.6). Senior Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) and juniors Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass.) and Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.), who are three of the top four rebounders in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), have been the driving force behind the team's success on the glass thus far. Quinnipiac held a 50-27 rebounding edge against Iona.
Quinnipiac is back in action on Thursday, Jan. 9 with its third game in a six-day stretch. In a game that is drawing a ton of attention, the Bobcats host the MAAC preseason favorite Manhattan College with tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center. The game will be televised on SNY.
